Croatian Port Days 2025

    March 28, 2025

The first national conference Croatian Port Days 2025  was held in Dubrovnik on 27 and 28 March 2025 at Hotel Kompas. This significant event, organized by the Association of Port Authorities, brought together key stakeholders in the maritime sector, including representatives of Croatian port authorities, state officials, maritime industry experts, investors, and many others.

The main goal of the conference is to highlight the importance of Croatian ports for both the national and regional economy, as well as to present innovations and new projects in the port industry. The event also facilitates the exchange of experiences through numerous panels, presentations, and discussions on key topics in the maritime, transport, and port industries. It aims to foster stronger cooperation between port authorities and promote new projects in the maritime transport and logistics sector.

One of the highlights of the conference was the panel “Port Infrastructure and its Connection to the International Market”, which featured Denis Vukorepa, Executive Director of the Port of Rijeka Authority. He presented the capital investments of the Port of Rijeka Authority paying special attention to the new container terminal, Rijeka Gateway, which is set to begin operations this year. The Rijeka Gateway project represents a key investment that will position the Port of Rijeka as a leader in the northern Adriatic. Through strategic investments, the Port of Rijeka Authority has enabled the Port of Rijeka to become the first port of call and a major intermodal and logistics hub in this part of Europe. These investments are expected to result in an increase in cargo volumes at the port, on the railway, and on the roads, the opening of new logistics centres, the creation of new jobs, and a significant return of investment in the development of the port system and the wider economy.
