Upgrade of the Rijeka Port infrastructure – AGCT Dredging (POR2CORE – AGCT Dredging)
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In September 2018, the Port of Rijeka Authority’s project titled Upgrade of the Rijeka Port infrastructure – AGCT Dredging (POR2CORE-AGCT dredging) was approved. The Port of Rijeka Authority had previously submitted the project at the call of the CEF Blending European Fund, under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).The project worth 13,9 million EUR will be carried out by the project coordinator the Port of Rijeka Authority. The total estimated value of the entire project is EUR 13,911,549 million (excluding VAT), of which 20% or EUR 2,782,310.00 million is co-financed by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program. Project deadline is March 31, 2024.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The main goal of the project is to remove the bottleneck at the Adriatic Gate container terminal by increasing the capacity to accommodate larger vessels, improving cargo handling at the terminal and enabling the mooring of larger vessels.
PROJECT ACTIVITIES
Activities include works on dredging the seabed in the length of 100 m along the coastal wall of the waterfront of the southern berth, which will equalize the depth of the sea along the entire length of the operational Kostrena pier south of 428 m at the Adriatic Gate container terminal to a depth of 14.88 m.
DOCUMENTATION
- On December 20th in 2018, a Grant Agreement no. INEA/CEF/TRAN/M2017/1620611 was signed between Port of Rijeka Authority and INEA. The project worth EUR 17.389.436,00 (including PDV) with a share co-financed by EU grants of 20% and 80% by in the independent implementation of the Port of Rijeka Authority.
- On June 18th 2020, the construction contract was signed for the project “Upgrade of the Rijeka Port infrastructure – AGCT Dredging” (POR2CORE-AGCT dredging). The construction Contract for the project “ Upgrade of the Rijeka Port infrastructure – AGCT Dredging (POR2CORE-AGCT dredging) worth HRK 78,170,856.22 + VAT (HRK 97,713,570.27) was signed by the Port of Rijeka Authority and NUOVA CO.ED.MAR Srl.
- August 24, 2020 – start of works
- On December 18, 2020, a press conference was held at the Adriatic Gate container terminal to present the progress of the project.
- September 24, 2024, completion of works
- The technical inspection was carried out on October 22, 2024.
