Connecting Croatia – new web platform
Connecting Croatia is a new internet platform developed by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, that presents infrastructure projects of the Port of Rijeka Authority among other projects in Croatia.
The Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, with hundreds of contracted projects worth almost HRK 15 billion, is one of the most successful ministries in using and contracting projects co-financed from EU funds. In order to inform the interested public about the progress of contracted projects in a more current and high-quality manner, it has launched a unique web platform for informing about the progress of the construction of infrastructure projects.
As part of monitoring the implementation of transport infrastructure projects co-financed by the European Union, construction sites for significant transport infrastructure projects of various modes of transport have opened in the Republic of Croatia: road, rail, air, ports and islands, inland navigation and public transport.
Taking into account the representation of the use of web and mobile applications and the use of digital technologies in informing the public, the Ministry decided to develop a new way of informing the public about the status of implementation of projects funded by EU grants under the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020 and the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). Precisely due to the large number of contracted projects and their territorial distribution, the goal of this web platform is to provide the public with the opportunity to actively monitor the implementation and progress of a number of projects. From the current situation on the Pelješac Bridge construction site to works on railway projects as well as projects such as the reconstruction of the port, the goal is to show everyday situations from the construction site in order to show the progress of construction given that these are complex and long-term projects.
