Cruising season launched in the Port of Rijeka
“Safe travels” for Port of Rijeka
On Friday, May 7, 2021, at 6:30 pm, a press conference was held at the Rijeka breakwater on the occasion of the beginning of the season of tourist cruises from the port of Rijeka in smaller cruise ships with a capacity not exceeding 50 passengers. The press conference was attended by Denis Vukorepa, Executive Director of the Port of Rijeka Authority, Gari Cappelli, Member of the Parliament in the 10th convocation of the Croatian Parliament and former Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia and David Manojlović, Director of the agency I.D. Riva Tours.
The Port of Rijeka Authority has undertaken all necessary preparations for the safe reception of tourist ships, sailboats and cruise ships of all sizes in 2021 and developed a Port Management Plan in the crisis caused by the COVID 19 pandemic, which is harmonized with safety protocols in tourism and hospitality and the recommendations of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). Accordingly, the Port of Rijeka Authority is licensed to display the labels “Safe stay in Croatia” and “Safe travels” for safe travel worldwide. This makes it easier for travelers / tourists to identify destinations and companies that have adopted global health and hygiene standards. Depending on the epidemiological situation and according to the instructions of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia, the Port of Rijeka Authority will organize all the necessary epidemiological measures for the reception of passenger ships in Rijeka.
