Demolition of warehouses 5,6, and 7

The signing took place for Contract for the execution of works within the project “Demolition of warehouses 5, 6 and 7” on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 12 o´clock in the Port Basin Rijeka.
The contract for the execution of works in the amount of HRK 10,275,904.00 (excluding VAT) was signed by Denis Vukorepa, director of the Port of Rijeka authority and Hrvoje Merki, director of EURCO d.d. from
Vinkovci on behalf of the selected bidder. On behalf of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic Of Croatia in the signing program participated Ph.d. Bojan Hlača, President of the Management Board of the Port of Rijeka Authority.

Warehouses 5, 6 and 7 are located on the Vienna pier in the Rijeka Basin, in the concession area of ​​the Port of Rijeka j.s.c. which currently uses only the ground floor to fill and empty containers, while the rest, most of the warehouse not usable for port operations and the original, basic purpose. By removing warehouses 5,6 and 7 it is released otherwise deficient operational port space in the Rijeka Basin for manipulations and storage of modern cargo, from containers to heavy and oversized cargo. Within the program for signing the Contract for the execution of works “Demolition of warehouses 5, 6 and 7″ for participants,
guests and media representatives are organized a tour of the works within the project “ Upgrade of the port of Rijeka infrastructure – Rijeka Basin” co- financed by Connecting European Facility program.

The project with a total value of EUR 33,664,078.00 is co-financed by the European Union from the Connecting European Facility in 85% share, and it is realized jointly by the Port of Rijeka Authority and the Port of Rijeka j.s.c. The project includes reconstruction works infrastructure in the Rijeka Basin at the ports of Prague, Budapest and Vienna and Visinovo, Orlando and De Franceschi pier.
