Fiumanka 2024 – press conference
The 25th edition of Fiumanka was announced at the press conference at the hotel Bonavia in Rijeka. Fiumanka will prove again this year that it is more than a regatta. Attractive facilities at sea and on land, reinforced by a rich program of the Rijeka City Day celebration and the feast of St. Vida, will attract numerous visitors, sailors, businessmen and the media to Rijeka.
The patrons and co-organizers of Fiumanka – the City of Rijeka, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the Port Authority of Rijeka, the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka and the Tourist Board of Kvarner emphasized the importance of Fiumanka in turning Rijeka towards the sea, as well as the promotion of Rijeka and Kvarner as a tourist and nautical destination.
That Fiumanka’s sails are already strongly woven into the identity of the local community and the business plans of numerous sponsors who support it, were pointed out by the longest-serving among them.
Ina and Fiumanka are bound by long-term cooperation, and this support continues even in the year of joint jubilees – the 60th anniversary of Ina and the 25th edition of Fiumanka. Every year, Fiumanka is joined by numerous business entities that want to contribute to the development of the idea of a joint project and a free regatta for all participants, and Fiumanka reciprocates this with the quality of the organization and top promotion of the destination. ACI Gitone, Jadrolinija, Lürssen Dizajn Centar Kvarner, Rijeka Gateway, Decathlon, PIK Rijeka, Kerver and Peugeot Auto centar Select share a love for the sea with Fiumanka. The Port of Rijeka Authority, JPS and the company Dezinsekcija will be available for the safety of the regatta and monitoring from the sea.Thanks to the media regatta, Fiumanka made a big step forward in international recognition. The tradition of media companies sailing as part of Fiumanka has been going on since 2007, and since 2013 in cooperation with Croatian Radio and Television.
The media regatta will be held on Saturday as a special group within the main regatta, and everything that will happen at sea and on land during Fiumanka will be recorded in a report that will be broadcast on HRT and through the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), sent to all members of the Union. National and local media will participate in the regatta again this year, and they will be joined in sailing and following Fiumanka this year by ORF, RAI and the leading sports agency for production, media distribution, advertising and the spread of sports brands around the world. Fiumanka activities begin with the international YUFE regatta, and continue with the three-day Student Fiumanka of the University of Rijeka, where 16 crews will sail.
