The Executive director emphasized that Hungarian companies have been one of the most important business partners at the area of Port of Rijeka for years, either at the bulk cargo terminal in Bakar, the grain silo, the cattle terminal in the Raša port basin, or the Jadranska vrata container terminal, where traffic is constantly growing, with regular block trains from / to Budapest.
Minister Szijjárt was presented with strategic projects that are part of a strong investment cycle in the Port of Rijeka, with emphasis on projects to be implemented in 2021 such as CEF projects worth 133 million euros, signing a concession agreement for the new Zagreb Deep Sea container terminal and entry of a new concessionaire in Porto Baroš which will become a new marina in the central part of the port of Rijeka.
It was concluded at the meeting that mutual cooperation is good, and that it needs to be preserved and developed by an even stronger positioning of Hungarian companies in the port of Rijeka and on the entire Rijeka traffic route.
