INTERREG CRO-IT – INTESA: INITIAL MEETING OF THE PROJECT
Major Italian and Croatian ports will be present on Thursday, March 28, at the Port of Venice Authority to launch the INTESA project (Improving the efficiency and safety of maritime transport in the Adriatic), co-ordinated by the Port of Venice Authority with a total value of € 2.9 million co-financed by of the European Interreg Italy-Croatia program.
The INTESA consortium includes the Ministries of Transport of Italy and Croatia, the General Headquarters of the Italian Coast Guard and the core of Adriatic ports (except the ports of Venice and Chioggia, there are port systems of Trieste, Monfalcone, Ravenna, Ancona, Bari, Brindisi, and the Croatian ports of Rijeka, Ploce, Split with the aim of improvements in trans-border co-operation in the port area.
The project lasts for a total of 30 months (to be completed on 30 June 2021) and envisages joint actions aimed at increasing the nautical accessibility and security of major Adriatic ports through the adoption of real-time IT and navigation assistance systems to improve maritime transport efficiency , navigation safety and harmonization of procedures in the Adriatic.
With a budget of € 440,000, the Port of Venice Authority will optimize internal / external nautical traffic management in the port of Venice through improved IT technologies and virtual navigation aids, thereby improving nautical accessibility and operations.
