JPS Fleet Expansion Celebration Ceremony
The ceremony celebrating the fleet expansion with two newly built ships “Moretto” and “Gea” in the tugboat fleet of the company Jadranski pomorski servis (JPS) was held on March 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. on the location of the Karolina Riječka Pier. The speeches were delivered by Vice President of the Croatian Government and Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković, Port of Rijeka Authority Executive Director Denis Vukorepa, Deputy Prefect of Primorsko-Goranska County Petar Mamula, Mayor of the City of Rijeka Marko Filipović, SCAFI Group Board Member Paolo Visco and JPS Executive Director Nedjeljko Kapetanović.
With the third ship joining by the end of summer, the overall investment amounts to 20 million euros.
It represents the continuation of investments made by Italian SCAFI Group, which invested 50 million euros over the last 8 years in the development of JPS, the company today having over hundred seamen and employees in the accompanying services who present a significant support to the growth of Rijeka traffic route. Continuation of collaboration with JPS on one of key concessions is important both in view of the tugboat activity as necessary for the operation of the port system as well as due to long term exceptionally good partnership with the Port of Rijeka Authority.
JPS provides services to ships in ports of Rijeka and Zadar, on oil terminals Omišalj and Bakar, terminals in Plomin and Raša and on new LNG terminal Omišalj-Njivice on the island of Krk.
Through continuous investments and an increasing number of employees, JPS constantly improves its capacities and excellence, aiming at meeting the local and regional needs to the maximum while proving to remain a significant investor and valued member of maritime business in Primorsko-Goranska County.
