Mediterranean Ports and Logistics 2024
The annual international maritime transport exhibition and business conference “Mediterranean Ports and Logistics 2024” took place in Trieste, Italy since May 28 – 30, 2024.
The conference program featured 30 world-class speakers addressing topical issues and challenges for transportation and logistics infrastructure. Experts shared their experiences through a wide range of presentations and panel discussions on the various topics such as challenges of change management in the European and Mediterranean port sector, harmonizing differences between sustainable and smart logistics, introducing smarter and greener new age solutions that enhance port operational activities, lining up clear and crucial plans to attract, retain and become investor friendly logistic hubs and exploring the possibilities to maximise the usage of unique hinterland logistics to become the next busiest route between the Mediterranean and northern Europe.
The exhibition was dedicated to showcasing current advancements in technology, projects and services of ports, port authorities, terminal operators, railway operators, leading shipping companies, cargo owners, importers/ exporters, freight forwarders, logistics companies and suppliers of port equipment and services from the Mediterranean, Europe and the Middle East. This year the exhibition was attended by 400 visitors.
At the exhibition stand, Port of Rijeka Authority presented new capital projects in the next ten-ear period, and at the conference part was set as the example of successful management of the concession area and attracting renowned global investors.
The host of this year’s business event was the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea. Port of Rijeka Authority and Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea are both members of the North Adriatic Ports Association (NAPA) and collaborate regularly on a number of cross-border projects co-financed by European funds.
