POR2CORE – RIJEKA BASIN: Signing ceremony for construction contract

The construction contract for the implementation of the project “Upgrade of the Rijeka port infrastructure – Rijeka Basin” was signed on September 4th at 11 o´clock at the De Franceshi pier in the Rijeka port basin.

The contract worth HRK 214.179.131,26 + PDV (HRK 214.179.131,26 + HRK 53.544.782,81) was signed by the President of the Management Board Duško Grabovac and director of Kolektor Koling Ltd. Tine Vadnal.

The works include the reconstruction of the current damaged infrastructure at the piers of Prague, Budapest and Vienna, as well as Visin, Orlando and De Franceschi piers. 109,420 m2 of pavement area with associated installations, 12,161 meters of railway and 1,652 meters of crane tracks will be renovated, along with reconstruction of sections of railway and crane tracks that are not currently used, all in accordance with European infrastructural technical requirements. Completion of works is expected by December 31, 2022

The signing ceremony was also attended by Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković and representatives of regional and local authorities, Prefect of Primorje-Gorski kotar County,
Zlatko Komadina and the Mayor of the City of Rijeka Vojko Obersnel.

The Port of Rijeka Authority is the main coordinator of a total of seven projects co-financed by CEF in the investment cycle worth 132.8 million euros. These projects are implemented independently or in partnership with concessionaires Port of Rijeka Ltd. and Croatian Railways.

The project “Upgrade of the port of Rijeka infrastructure – Rijeka Basin” (POR2CORE-Rijeka Basin) is a joint project of the Port of Rijeka and the Port of Rijeka ltd. The total value of the project is EUR 33,664,078, and it is mostly co-financed from the Connecting European Facility (CEF) with a share of 85%.
