“Seatrade Cruise Med 2022”
The Croatian port authorities of Rijeka, Dubrovnik, Split, Šibenik, Zadar and Vukovar jointly promoted their ports as cruise destinations at the international convention dedicated to the cruise industry “Seatrade Cruise Med”, which was held from September 14 to 15, 2022, at the Congress Center in the city of Malaga in Spain.
During the convention, conferences and business meetings provided the latest news in the maritime sector while numerous business meetings were held between shipowners and port authorities with a special focus on topics such as sustainable development, safety and quality of service. The activities of Croatian tourist boards and agencies also contributed to the joint promotion of cruise tourism in Croatia.
This year’s conference program showcased some of the latest marketing strategies that destinations are using to regain client trust and rebuild tourism. Regardless of whether it is a pandemic or other geopolitical events that can negatively affect tourism, under the slogan “Steering change together”, participants shared their experiences and presented successful tactics used by destinations to overcome today’s challenges and become a sustainable and welcoming destination for tourism. and cruises.
This year’s Seatrade Cruise Med brought together more than 45 cruise lines from across Europe and beyond, including TUI Cruises, Costa Crociere, Celestyal Cruises, MSC Cruises and Viking Cruises, more than seventy countries, 150 exhibitors and attracted more than 2,000 visitors.
