SUSPORT: Purchase of an electric vehicle
Port of Rijeka Authority has purchased an electric vehicle from the SUSPORT project funds within the Interreg Italy – Croatia program 2014 – 2020
On Tuesday, February 22nd 2022, Port of Rijeka Authority signed a contract worth HRK 311,000.00 with VAT (HRK 248,800.00 + VAT) with Hyundai Afro Ltd. for the purchase of an electric vehicle. The contract was signed by Mr. Denis Vukorepa, Executive Director of the Port of Rijeka Authority and Ms. Željka Afrić Jutriša, Director of Hyundai Afro Ltd.
The purchase of an electric vehicle is co-financed by EU funds from the SUSPORT project with EUR 440,000.00 (approx. HRK 3,319,000.00) of the total budget dedicated to the Port of Rijeka Authority following the financing model 85% from the Interreg program and 15% from its own funds.
The SUSPORT project aims to improve environmental sustainability and energy efficiency in Italian and Croatian ports as projects partners in the Interreg Italy – Croatia 2014-2020 program.
Within the SUSPORT project, the procurement and installation of a charging station for electric vehicles is in the planning phase, which will be located next to the Port Passenger Terminal at entrance of the Rijeka breakwater and will be available free of charge.
Currently, within the same project, a contract worth HRK 1,384,198.75 with VAT for the purchase and installation of LED lighting is implemented at the Rijeka breakwater. With this contract, the favorite promenade in the city center will obtain environmentally sustainable and energy efficient public lighting that ensures minimum electricity consumption, low maintenance costs and minimum CO2 emissions.
SUSPORT is one of the Port of Rijeka Authority´s projects that is co-financed by EU funds within the Interreg Italy – Croatia program 2014 – 2020 and officially ends by 31.12.2022.
