Visit of the War School Ban Josip Jelačić
Participants of the 27th generation of the War School “Ban Josip Jelačić” visited the Port of Rijeka Authority
On March 26, 2025, as part of their study trip, the participants of the 27th generation of the “Ban Josip Jelačić” War School visited the Port of Rijeka Authority, which continued the educational program that includes introduction to key civilian and military issues. The mentioned generation consists of six participants from Croatia, including two high-ranking officers of the Croatian Army, and one participant each from the Croatian Parliament, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Police Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia. The remaining participants come from abroad – two from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and one each from North Macedonia, Slovenia and Kosovo. Through study trips, participants gain the opportunity to develop new competencies for strategic thinking and action at the national and international level. The visit to the Port of Rijeka Authority also included an introduction to the development of civilian and military capacities to strengthen strategic leadership and cooperation. The Chief of the War School “Ban Josip Jelačić”, dr. sc. Nenad Samardžić, pointed out that study trips enable participants to gain insight into military and civilian knowledge, and get acquainted with the achievements and future plans of development projects. The “Ban Josip Jelačić” War School of the Croatian Military Academy “Franjo Tuđman” is the highest military-civilian educational institution in the Republic of Croatia. This school educates high-ranking officers of the armed forces and other government officials, with a special emphasis on the development of students as character and strategic leaders capable of making key decisions in a complex and uncertain global environment.
